Twilbee BETA launched this week to coincide with “Global Sharing Day” on November 14th 2012. It's a project that DabApps has taken from concept to release over the last few months.
Twilbee.com is a public, web-based tool to promote and facilitate sharing of items, resources, time or skills, and is aimed at, well, everyone!
With a deep and passionate interest in the rapidly growing Sharing Economy, our client Future2Share convinced us that this really is an area, not only to keep an eye on, but to get involved in and make a contribution to. So it was a great opportunity for DabApps.

The Project
Future2Share came to DabApps with a simple idea; to create a tool which would empower and facilitate a fundamental human interaction that we all know has real practical benefits, connects us to others in a positive way AND makes us feel good in the process, namely sharing.
The central aim was to develop as generic a sharing tool as possible for a BETA release.
DabApps' insight and expertise helped in the initial concept development, product envisioning and brand identity which preceded the design and build. From finding the right name, to designing the logo and creating artwork for the site, DabApps was involved at every stage. Prototyping and wireframing allowed the client to be involved in the design process. It also proved vital in ensuring the best was made of a modest budget and that the most essential features were prioritised.
This initial BETA release will allow Future2Share to discover how early adopters are using the site, receive their feedback and adapt Twilbee to reflect the sharing needs of its members. It is very much an application that will evolve with time based on how its members engage with it.
As usual, we found the Django framework to be the ideal development environment for Twilbee and were pleased to be able to start optimising for mobile devices using Bootstrap's responsive CSS. This site build called for a number of third party integrations which allowed us to develop rapidly and within budget, underlying our commitment and contributions to Open Source.

Great design and a good user experience was high on our list of priorities. DabApps were really good at simplifying some of the more complex features we wanted in the first release.
