Client:
Patients with skin conditions faced a significant hurdle: tracking their health over time was difficult and often disconnected from their interactions with doctors. Regular in-person medical assessments weren’t always feasible, especially with increasing pressures on NHS resources. The existing approach—paper-based questionnaires—was both outdated and inefficient, requiring manual printing and completion. This lack of streamlined, accessible tracking tools made it hard for patients to monitor progress and for doctors to gain a comprehensive understanding of their conditions.
We partnered with the DLQI team to design and build an intuitive digital application that empowers patients to track their skin condition progress independently. The solution, tailored for both adults and children, ensures patients can stay informed about their health without the need for frequent NHS appointments.
Key features of the application include:
Accessibility and usability were central to our design process. By replacing cumbersome paper processes with a user-friendly digital platform, we created a solution that could be easily adopted by individuals of all ages and technical abilities.
Our collaboration resulted in a streamlined and accessible tool for patients managing their skin conditions.
What’s changed?
Future Proofing The DLQI application has been built with longevity in mind. It’s designed to scale and evolve as patient needs change, offering a sustainable solution that reduces dependency on NHS resources. By enabling patients to independently manage their health, the app helps alleviate the burden on healthcare systems while fostering a sense of empowerment for users.
Looking Ahead This project demonstrates how digital innovation can transform healthcare processes and improve patient experiences. By moving from paper-based questionnaires to a globally accessible digital platform, we’ve given patients the tools to take control of their health journey. The DLQI application represents a step forward in patient-centric care, and we’re proud to have played a role in its development.
